Dr. Thao Nguyen, dermatologist with Garner Dermatology, finds great satisfaction in helping patients achieve and keep healthy skin.

Working with patients from all age groups and backgrounds gives Dr. Nguyen an opportunity to make a positive impact on her patients’ lives every day. With training in both general medical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Nguyen has the tools and expertise to help her patients achieve their healthy, youthful skin goals and address a wide variety of skin issues. When they feel better, she says, it has a big, positive impact on their psyche.

Dr. Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Neuroscience and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She holds a medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia. She conducted clinical research fellowships at The University of California in San Francisco and Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, Calif., where she also completed a residency in Dermatology and served as Chief Resident. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

With a passion for research and treating her patients through the art and science of medicine, Dr. Nguyen enjoys helping her patients understand and treat the conditions that affect their skin. Dr. Nguyen has published numerous articles on psoriasis, given presentations, and authored book chapters on the skin condition, which impacts two percent of the population. Dr. Nguyen notes that research into pervasive conditions like psoriasis and eczema have produced new treatment options, and she is excited to share those advancements with her patients to make a big difference in their daily lives. Dr. Nguyen has great expertise in other skin conditions such as acne, skin cancer, hyper-pigmentation, and general dermatologic conditions for people of all skin colors, and has a passion for the skilled delivery of cosmetic dermatology.
